First Day of Preschool

The day has come.  My baby's first day of preschool.  I expected tears from my shy little boy.  I thought he would be stressed, as he usually is in the presence of strangers.  I was worried that he wouldn't use the bathroom, since he finds unfamiliar restrooms terrifying.  I anticipated separation anxiety when I left the classroom.

But no.  He was thrilled to see me go.

I, on the other hand, had an intense case of separation anxiety.  Bawling, I went home to my quiet, empty house and cleaned like a madwoman.  It was the only thing keeping me from driving back to the school and picking up my child early.

When the house was virtually spotless it was still too early to pick him up.  I decided that I would go grocery shopping and pick him up on the way home.

I completed my grocery shopping in record time.

I couldn't wait to see Sebastian and hear about his day.  I greeted him with a lollipop and movie.

He did great!  He made a friend, used the restroom like a pro, and even got to be line leader.  His favorite parts of the day were recess and circle time, and he can't wait to go back next week!
