I appreciate blogs. I follow several blogs closely and have often toyed with the idea of creating my own. I always decided against it because it seemed egocentric to assume that anyone cares about my boring life. Twitter is egocentric, as is Facebook. Both insert my posts into others' space whether they care or not. At least with a blog, those who read it are, in fact, seeking out my thoughts, ideas, and experiences.
There are a couple of things that prompted this blog. First, a friend, who I rarely talk to but love deeply, had a a miraculous, life-changing event occur a few weeks ago. I've been glued to her blog ever since. I feel so fortunate that I have the opportunity to follow along on this journey of hers. The second event was a phone conversation with my grandparents. I am terrible at keeping in touch with loved ones and my grandma expressed that they want to know what's going on in my life. My grandparents pray every day for each of my family members even though they're not always sure what we need prayer for.
So this blog is for loved ones who I fail to keep in adequate touch with. This blog is for me, as a means to express my thoughts. And this blog is for future generations who might care about the lives of Joel, Hannah, and Sebastian McNayr.
